Avon Valley
Wednesday 20th December 2006 started as a very cold and foggy morning with the temperature just below freezing. Ruth led
a group of us on a 4.5 mile walk along part of the
Avon
Valley path and surrounding New Forest. Soon after
we started, the sun broke through the mist and it turned
into a beautifully sunny day.
This sunny winter view of the River Avon was taken from
Castle View. near Woodgreen. The fog bank that
enveloped everything at the start of the walk can be seen
in the distance.
