New Year Lunch
This year, the New Year lunch was held at the Moorhill House Hotel, Burley on 6th January 2007. The event was very well organised by Joy, our Publicity Secretary and was a great success. Some 60 members attended and enjoyed an excellent meal in very pleasant surroundings.

Arne & Corfe Castle
Sunday, 7th January 2007 marked the start of the weekend walks for the new year. In the morning, Ruth led a group of 11 walkers on a 4 mile circular walk to the west of Corfe Castle before moving on to the Arne Peninsula for a 3 mile walk to the RSPB bird sanctuary.
Two more walkers joined for the afternoon. Before reaching the foreshore for the first paddle of the season, the group were lucky enough to observe several spoonbills feeding and also a very large herd of sika deer

Tisbury
Sunday 18th February 2007. Janet led a group of 17 of us on a delightful walk of some 8 miles around the Tisbury area. The overcast winter day did not detract from the wonderful scenery and views that can be seen in this part of Wiltshire.

Blashford Lakes
On Tuesday 6th March,while one group of walkers was walking in Cornwall, Keith led another group of 17 members on a walk around the Poulner and Blashford lakes. The weather was wonderful although heavy rain had made it very wet in places.

Mere
On Sunday, 17th June, Janet led a group of us on a most scenic walk of about 8 Miles across some wonderful rolling Dorset Hills full of wild flowers, with views of the counryside for miles around. Although the day was overcast, the temperature was ideal for walking

Summer Lunch
Sunday 10th June 2007 was a very warm sunny day and ideal for this year's annual Summer Lunch held in Robin's very colourful garden. The lunch was preceded by a walk of about 5 miles, led by Cyril.
Ray, one of the Society's longest serving members celebrated his 80th birthday and very kindly provided some bottles of wine for us all to enjoy the occasion with him.

The annual Trig Point walk took place on 26th June 2007..As can be seen from the overcast sky, we were lucky to complete the walk in very bright, low sunlight.
The Chairman brought along the Ordnance Survey Certificate showing the adoption of this particular trig point by the Society.
In accordance with the usual custom, everyone enjoyed a glass of wine to mark the occasion which was hosted by Keith and Ian.

Studland to Swanage
On Sunday, 22nd July, a group of over 20 walkers met at the Studland end of the ferry from Poole to walk the first 8 miles of the S.W.Coastal Path.
The walk was led by Ruth.
The path took us to a viewpoint overlooking Old Harry Rocks and then across Ballard Down before descending on to the beach at Swanage. Although windy, the day was very sunny and extremely warm.

Tyneham & Clavell Tower
The 8 mile walk on 9th August was led by Ruth. It started at Tyneham in Dorset and was attended by well over 20 RFFS members.The day turned out to be the hottest of the year and some of the steeper hills were quite taxing in the heat.
Clavell tower was visited during the walk. It is still being reconstructed having been moved back from the crumbling cliff edge.

Whitesheet Plantation
On a warm and sunny Sunday, 25th November,12 members of the walking group enjoyed a 10 mile walk which started and finished in the Whitesheet Plantation (north of Wimborne).On the way, the group passed this tower near Horton . The walk was led by Lindsay and David S.

After Xmas mince pies & drinks
This year, the annual get together after Christmas for a walk to a nearby pub for drinks and mince pies took place on 28th December.
A large number of club members assembled at the Moyles Court Sand Pit car park for a walk to the Alice Lisle pub in the New Forest.
